XBRL Japan is an affiliate organization to XBRL International, an organization to promote XBRL worldwide. With the support of Japan Institute of Certified Public Accountants and other organizations, XBRL Japan was established on April 25, 2001 as a voluntary organization, and became a general incorporated association at the general assembly held on May 28, 2010.

The purpose

The purpose of XBRL Japan is to cooperate with XBRL International in development of XBRL related technological regulations and promotion of XBRL.

Activities

The most important activity is to develop a common taxonomy all over Japan according to regulations and customs in Japan, and to promote it. Besides, we study utilization models of XBRL and technological formats, communicate with related organizations, execute education and advertising activities. Some of our members participate in XBRL International Conferences held twice a year, and we hold seminars regarding various fields of business in Japan. XBRL Japan is also a member of International Executive Committee, and plays a significant role in XBRL International activities.

Members

XBRL Japan Inc. is an organization which promotes dissemination and education activities in Japan. It consists of JICPA, Auditing Firms, Securities related Printing Companies, Financial Information Services Companies, Software Vendors, Financial Institutions and organizations mainly related to supply chain of financial information.
In future, we are going to ask the participation of industrial system vendors, standardization promoting organizations, financial and IR departments of companies, financial analysts, investment consulting companies and governmental organizations and trying to build more cooperative relationship.
